Prep Time: About 5 mins
Cooking Time: About 15 mins
Servings: 4
Allergens: Dairy
Other: None!!
Ingredients:
2 Garlic cloves
1 tsp Plain flour
Salt
1/2 tbsp Oil/frylight, for frying
Black Pepper
15g Butter (unsalted)
120ml Red wine
Thyme
2 Shallots
180ml (1/2 cube) Beef stock
Instructions:
Peel and chop the shallots, and peel and mince the garlic!
Add the butter and oil/frylight to a frying pan and heat at a medium heat! Once the butter is done melting, add the shallots and cook for 2-3 minutes, until the shallots are just starting to soften!
Add the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds while stirring pretty often! Then add the plain flour, cook for 30 more seconds and stir it often!
Add the red wine to the pan, stirring while you do, and then add the beef stock and salt and pepper!
Give it a little bit more of a stir and then bring it to the boil! Simmer it for about 10-15 minutes until it has thickened and reduced by 1/3!
Stir in thyme (leaves or diced/powder!) and season to taste! And enjoy!
