Short Paste!

Used in fruit pies, Cornish pastries, etc! Makes 400g!

Ingredients:

  • 125g Butter
  • Salt
  • 40-50ml Water
  • 250g Soft flour
  • Instructions:

  • Cube the butter up!
  • Sieve the flour and salt into a large bowl!
  • Rub in the butter until you get a sandy texture!
  • Make a well in the centre of the mixture!
  • Add the water to the well and mix until you get a fairly firm paste! Add more water if necessary, but make sure you don't add too much!
  • You'll want to handle the paste as lightly as possible at this point! Cover the bowl and place it into the fridge until it goes firm! Then, roll it out and either use it or keep it in the fridge for later use! And enjoy!
